From central Byron Bay, head toward Main Beach and Clarkes Beach, then continue toward Lighthouse Road using legal roads and paths. The final climb is steep; an e-bike can make it easier.
The coastal walking route links the town side of Byron Bay with The Pass, Wategos and Cape Byron. Follow current signs and allow for stairs, hills and exposed coastal conditions.
Vehicle parking at the lighthouse precinct is limited and paid. Current fees, access conditions and alerts should be checked with NSW National Parks before departure.
The lighthouse approach is steep and can carry busy traffic. Follow road rules and signs, give way to pedestrians, dismount in walking-only areas and secure your bike only where permitted. Weather, closures and access arrangements can change.
